Through its company, ISA INTERVIAL, the company presented the best offer to design, build and operate the “Santiago Orbital Concession”, a tender promoted by the Ministry of Public Works, which will benefit nearly half a million Chileans and reduce travel times.

The project includes the development of a new high-standard highway, which will be part of the second metropolitan road ring and will provide a solution to mobility difficulties in the southern sector of Santiago.

The company will receive an average annual revenue of more than USD 46 million.

ISA INTERVIAL, which has more than 20 years of experience in PPP projects, presented the best economic offer at the opening of the tender carried out by the Ministry of Public Works of Chile (MOP) for the “Santiago Orbital Concession” project. This is the first urban project that ISA will promote, with which it reaches a total of 860 kilometers of routes under construction and operation in Chile and Colombia.

The project contemplates the execution of a new 25-kilometer urban highway that will connect the western (western) and eastern areas of Greater Santiago with the current concessions Ruta 78, Ruta 5 Sur and Ruta 79, which will facilitate mobility in one of the main departures from the country's capital.

“Santiago Orbital Concession” will improve connectivity, reinforce road safety and promote economic and local development, which will positively impact the quality of life of users. Its design includes high-standard infrastructure works, among which is a cobro electrónico (free flow). These works will benefit nearly half a million people, reducing travel times by more than 30 minutes.

“This result marks a new milestone towards achieving our strategy of consolidation and growth of the road business in the region and ratifies our commitment to the development and progress of the countries where we operate. We are proud to continue being a relevant player in the Chilean road market. Furthermore, with this project that will incorporate the free flow system, we continue to contribute from road concessions to the energy transition, since CO2emissions are reduced. of vehicles that will not need to stop to make the payment,” explained Juan Emilio Posada, president of ISA.

The official investment budget estimated by the MOP amounts to USD 505 million. It could begin its construction phase in 2027 and enter into operation during 2030.
